Accounts
   
 

The prime responsibilities of the accounts department of Kozhikode Corporation are as follows:

  • Recording and up keeping of income and expenditure accounts of the entire office in respective heads in the concerned registers and preparation of monthly as well as yearly statements accordingly.
  • Preparation of Budget for the Corporation
  • Scrutinising of all bills, including salary bills of the employees, work bills etc, recommend the same for payment and prepare cheques thereon.
  • Issue advances of all sorts, including marriage advances and monitor repayment of the same.
  • Maintain the accounts of LIC, PF and payments due other financial institutions, recovered from the salary of employees and pay the same to the institutions concerned.  Maintain the accounts of Provident Fund and disburse PF advances.
  • All works relating to the disbursement of payment in respect of Plan fund such as scrutinising bills, preparation of TR59 A Forn No.IV, submission of the same in Treasury, obtain Pay Order from Treasury, produce the same before SBI and collect Demand Drafts thereon.
  • Reconcile the accounts of the Corporation with that of Treasury.
  • Co-ordinate the work of different sections for obtaining replies on audit objections contained in the Audit Reports of Local Fund Audit, Performance Audit and Accountant General’s Audit and take necessary action to get the objections dropped..
