Council


The Council Secretary heads the Council Section of Kozhikode Corporation. The Planning Cell functions under the Council Section. The superintendent in the Revenue Section (Janasevana Kendra) is given additional charge of the Planning Cell.

The work distribution of clerks in the Council Section and Planning Cell is as follows:

Council Section:

D1 – Council clerk – looks after the subjects & files to be placed before the Council and allied works

D2 – Committee clerk (Tax Appeal & Finance) deals with the subjects & files connected with these committees.

D3 – Salary /Honorarium bills & TA of the Mayor, Dy. Mayor, Chairmen & Councillors, Salary bill of the staff, repairs of the vehicles in the Council Section, Telephone bill, distress relief fund of the Mayor, furnishing of reply to audit reports and other general matters.

D4 – Committee clerk (Town Planning & Public Works) deals with the subjects & files connected with these committees.

D5 – Subjects of transferred institutions such as social welfare, old age pension and pension for the unmarried

D6 – Committee clerk (Health)  & also subjects of transferred institutions -public education.

 D7 – Committee clerk (Development Committee)  + widow pension

 D8 – Committee clerk (Welfare) + pension for farmers & handicapped

 D9 – Unemployment dole, marriage assistance to the daughters of widows

 Planning Cell:

P1 – Formulation of plan under Kerala Development Programme (erstwhile peoples’ planning)

 P2 – Consolidation of replies from Implementing officers (KDP) on audit objections, preparation of bills pertaining to plan formulation, invite applications for beneficiary list (KDP) and take follow up action.
